April 7               Open book discussion at the Cottonwood location of the Marshall-Lyon

County Library – 6:30 pm 

April 7 and 8      Auditions for the Marshall Area Stage Company’s Readers’ Theater presentation

                        of My Antonia – There are parts available for men, women, and children!

                        St. Stephen Lutheran Church – 8:00 pm both evenings

April 9               “The Pioneers in Your Life – Tracking Down Your Ancestors” – 6:30 pm

                        at the Southwest History Center at SMSU

April 12             “Willa Cather Speaks:  The Making of My Antonia” performance by nationally-renowned actress and Willa Cather scholar, Betty Jean Steinshouer. – 2:00 pm

April 15             Open book discussion at the Marshall location of the Marshall-Lyon County Library – 6:30 pm

April 16             Open book discussion led by local Cather expert, Jack Hickerson – 7:00 pm

April 17             “My Antonia’s Life on the Prairie”  - Discover how the pioneers during My Antonia’s time might have lived!

                        Lyon County Historical Museum – 6:30 pm 

April 19             “From the Inside Out: A Celebration of Minnesota’s Pioneer Women in Fashion and Song” presented by Barb Schmidt, a skilled seamstress and talented musician who will share her knowledge of mid-19-century clothing and song  – Marshall location of the Marshall-Lyon County Library -1:00 pm

April 21             “Writing Your Family History” presented by Joseph Amato, local historian and author of “Jacob’s Well: The Case for Rethinking Family History”

April 22             “Medicine on My Antonia’s Prairie”, a discussion and slideshow about medical

practice on the prairie at the turn of the century presented by Dr. C. Paul Martin
